This is a lovely,
simple book that would stimulate discussion about the issue of race,
and in particular, American Indian issues. However, I felt the “crisis” to be contrived and predictable, and wasn’t moved by the sparse text. On
the other hand, it provides a window into a very “functional” modern
American Indian family, and would be a good addition to any classroom
trying to make an effort to have many ethnicities and family types
represented in text.
